i think this is the triple bucket rig brother not a big deal its a crew preference some crews adapt in a few days some never do and revert back to just port starboard, i dont think it makes a difference leave it to the muscle behind the oar right ;) have fun on the erg this winter!

some arguments for this are stability and maintaning a more constant rate through the whole boat. The dutch teams are always the best ofcourse ;)

its called a bucket (its not necessarily russian =D). Why it is rigged like this is so that they can have stroke seat and bow seat both be on the same side, in this case port. 8 is port, 7 and 6 are starboard and 5 is port and then its the same. It's hard to row with sometimes
