MCN has ridden the Ducati Desmosedici RR before but we've never had the chance to take the motorcycle out on a proving ground and really test the full performance of the MotoGP replica.Check out the video below to see the bike in action at Elvington test facility as we try out the Desmosedici's full acceleration and top speed.Find out the results in MCN, Wednesday, July 2, 2008.Satisfy all your biking needs at http://www.motorcyclnews.com

This repeat comment is for the wooden tops out there... Reasons why stats are not shown: MCN is a weekly UK motorcycling newspaper - vid is inducement to buy the paper. Want to know the stats? Top speed 190.78mph and banging off the rev limiter. SS1/4mile 10.26sec @ 146.87. 0-180mph 16.59sec. 70-0mph 3.27sec. Rear wheel power (EC standard, not Din) 177bhp @ 13,500rpm. Torque: 76.7ft-lb @ 10,700rpm. 200mph+ is achievable but means change of final drive gearing is required

good for you, but still its silly how people who owns japanese bikes would wanna try and beat something that has been unbeatable for decades and its not just ducatis in general, its companies that hand make bikes not re-use aluminum or recycled metal to make something that just screams. and plus i have no other choice but to stick to ducati even if i hated it "in which i dont" because its a perfect fit for dudes over 6 FT.it could be the world record's tallest man and still a duke can carry.
midnightshadevsr (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
hey so then i can say this a ducati on first gear is faster then a r1 on 6th gear? NICEEEEEEEEEmy bad it was a mixup.
Therealfrazer (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
aaand no, look at the masterbike test (the biggest sportbiketest in the world), only 3 Italian bikes have ever won it, and they didn't even have the fastest average time. They were on the other hand the most expensive by far and the latest ducati had a bigger engine than the others. But sure, if I werer a millionare, why not a Ducati (because money wouldn't be an issue)? On the other hand, if I were a millionare I would buy every sportbike there is just to be able to compare them :P
Therealfrazer (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Oh gosh, why do people without arguments or intelliegnce always have to sweare instead of shutting up when they don't understand what other peaople is saying in plain English? My point was that an R1 in 6th gear accelerates slowly as hell and I think you agree. So saying that a Ducati in 1st gear is like an R1 in 6th either means the worst acceleration possible or going 250km/h in first gear, which simply isn't possible. So my piont therefore is that you probably mixed it up somehow.

that thing sounds like a speeding ticket
gixxerman08 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Oh and by the way yamaha sucks rabid walrus dick. I hate these fuckin idiots that think that yamaha owns the fuckin streets. Yamaha couldnt make a bike if the only thing they had to put on was the license plate. I am six five, and the r6 AND the r1 are possibly the most uncomfortable shitty pieces of engineering I have ever had the misfortune of sitting on. Fuck yamaha, long live ducati, mv agusta, and aprilia.
gixxerman08 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I second that completely. True, I am a gsxr fan, but im gonna have to give COMPLETE sports bike balls to mv agusta. Some of the shit that they have come out with is fuckin incredible. Japanese sportsbikes are mass produced in a factory. Italian sportsbikes are hand made with hand cast parts. This is what makes japanese sportsbikes japanese sportsbikes, and italian sportsbikes italian sportsbikes. Anyone second that notion?
midnightshadevsr (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
uhhh............lemme think...... i got a answer to that? YOUR RETARTED. it means that ducati (AND I MEAN ANY DUCATI)even on 1st gear it would RAPE ya japanese imports like the R1, but you can ask the victims i tore off before i put the bad bitch to rest for spring o9. ASK THEM and they'll tell you. ducatis and all of italian (lemme bring it in emphasis. HAND MADE BIKES) are nothing to fuck with. period, end of discussion.
